Marc Zebisch is specialized in monitoring and modelling environmental dynamics in mountains and the consequences of climate change by means of remote sensing, GIS, computer model and interdisciplinary approaches. At Eurac Research he was involved in more than 20 international projects on environmental monitoring and climate change research including 8 FP7 / H2020 Projects. Currently he is involved in two running Horizon2020 projects on Climate Services related to snow remote sensing and snow forecast (ProSnow and SECLI-Firm), one Austrian-Italian research project on snow monitoring and modelling (CRYOMON). He is or has been member of scientific advisory boards in the context of climate change for the European Environmental Agency (EEA), the Austrian Environmental agency and currently for the Bavarian Climate Research Program. He is co-author of numerous papers and reports on climate change impacts. Furthermore, he has contributed to several climate risk assessments for the German Environmental Agency as well as in developing countries (Bolivia, Pakistan). He is member of the GEO initiative on mountains (GeoGnome). Marc Zebisch graduated at the Potsdam University (Institute for Geoecology) and obtained his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Berlin (Institute for Landscape Development) in 2004. From 2000 – 2005 he was working at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) where he wrote his PhD on modelling the consequences of land-use changes on biodiversity.
